Refine your job search, to find a job you’ll love.

16/11/2020

You’re searching for your next job. Reviewing jobs boards on your lunch break. Applying for the jobs which sound exciting at “that moment in time”.

But what if, instead of “settling” for what was on the jobs board that day, there was a way to identify a job you would love EVERYDAY?
coHired refined job search
Our tips to create a refined search and find a job you’ll love:
1. Your Skills - Radiators and Drains

If you haven’t heard this before….radiators give you energy, and drains….well…..drain it! Apply that to your job hunt:

List your daily paid and unpaid jobs. Which do you love? Can you find those in a job?

For example....You love organising social events, you’re the sports team captain, and enjoy training juniors in your day job. A job which is people-focused may a great match!

Output: When jobseeking, be sure to question if the job will bring you fulfilment.

2. Your experience

You have “the perfect cv” but not quite making the cut for interviews….

Be ambitious, but honest, about your skillset - if you’re currently entry level, the chance of becoming a Director next, is unlikely. So, spending hours on “the perfect cv” might not always cut it! Instead speak to someone already doing your dream job, ask for mentorship and skills development.

Output: CVs are not the only way to explore career options. Get your name out there by speaking to companies. Remember to be honest about your experience and goals.

3. Your values and ethos

Have you ever felt like the job “just wasn’t for you”? Or you “didn’t fit in”? It may have been due to a clash in personal values.
Research companies you want to work for. What do they stand for? What’s their vision and values? Are they who you thought? If not, it may not be the right move for your career.

Output: Investigate companies and find ones you will flourish in. A company which has the same ethos and values is likely to help you achieve more in your career!
Want to know a secret? Our recruitment platform has a magical-matching quiz that finds you work in a company that ticks all three of these boxes – you only need to apply once, and we’ll find you a job you’ll love.
